Stretch Nissan LEAF

For most of us limos are reserved for special occasions...namely proms and weddings. For a select few, it's the chariot to the fundraising ball, red carpet and airport. We often think of them as:

A) Long
B) Inefficient - especially the stretch-SUV
C) Kind of aggressive looking

Well, Imperial Coach Builders, a custom-coach-building subsidiary of Electric Car Company, is about to shatter all of those judgments. After receiving a most unusual work order, the Springfield, Massachusetts-based company is about to stretch the Nissan LEAF.

"This will be the first conversion of this revolutionary vehicle and the first pure electric limousine,"1 boasts Gary Spaniak, President, Electric Car Company.

Already, Imperial Coach Builders knows they're going to stretch the Nissan LEAF to 225 inches (or 18.75 feet) long. That represents close to 50 inches (over four-feet) of added length, making room for nearly two times as many passengers. The question remains, however: What will Imperial Coach Builders decide to do with the seating configuration? Will they keep it traditional? Or, given the fact it's an unconventional car to begin with, go outside the box?

There are other questions the company will answer soon, as well. Such as, how the added length, and resultant weight, might impede the EV's range/per full charge, which right now is right about 100 miles.

[Dealer] is sure they'll figure it out. We're just psyched to see the Nisan LEAF EV go VIP. If you're interested in learning more about the Nissan LEAF and its revolutionizing technology - contact John Howard Nissan today, or visit us at 1730 Mileground in Morgantown, WV.

Nissan, though, has never been one for fitting the mold. As such, they've created compact with an interior that's so spacious it could almost represent a larger segment.

How exactly does the 2012 Nissan Versa break the mold? In three critical areas: leg room, head room and trunk size. That's…
