Nissan Extends Project Car Creation to Facebook Fans

If you were a Nissan engineer, what would you do to the Nissan 370Z? What kind of powertrain would you give it? How about the exhaust? Suspension? Interior and exterior? Well, thanks to Nissan's new Project 370Z, these aren't just rhetorical questions anymore.

All you need is a Facebook account and an opinion. Each week, Nissan will post different choices for different parts of the car (based on the 2013 370Z. Last week, fans helped them choose the Greddy Turner Twin Turbo Kit as the powerplant. Then they chose the exhaust: Greddy Turbo Ti-C. The suspension is up next!

When it's complete, the 370Z Roadster will make its debut at the ZDayZ event in May. Then it will make the rounds to ZCON 2012 and the 2012 SEMA show in Vegas in the fall. And some lucky journalists and automotive critics will get to test drive it, as well.

"We're excited to see how this group-sourced Z will come out and how it will perform on both the street and the track," says Jon Brancheau, VP, Nissan Marketing, NNA. "Social media has become a powerful communications tool and a great way for us to stay connected without tremendous fan base. Immediacy, like social media itself, is another benefit of Project 370Z - which will be built from start to finish in less than four months."1

Pretty cool, right? Head on over to www.facebook.com/nissanperformance to voice your opinion and watch the 370Z come to life.

From all of us at John Howard Nissan, 1730 Mileground Morgantown, WV 26505, we hope you have some fun - after all, that's what Nissan Performance is all about!
