Just because you're tall or crave extra cargo space, doesn't mean you can't drive a compact. Sure, compacts have earned a bad rap for being cramped, forcing people to crook their neck in owl-like ways and sit with their legs crossed like a pretzel. Nissan, though, has never been one for fitting the mold. As such, they've created compact with an interior that's so spacious it could almost represent a larger segment.

How exactly does the 2012 Nissan Versa break the mold? In three critical areas: leg room, head room and trunk size. That's…

Nissan Quake-Proofs Buildings

While news of the March 11th earthquake and tsunami seem a fuzzy memory pushed into the shadows by more recent stories, the recovery effort in Japan is still very much a current event. It will take months and months before things begin to resume some level of normalcy. One automaker, however, is already taking precautionary measures to guard its employees, products and buildings from potential future earthquake damage: Japan's second-largest automaker, Japan.

Nissan is, in fact, planning to invest a total of 3 billion yen ($37 million) to reinforce the foundation of its most severely damaged domestic factory. It…

Nissan Cube 1.8S Krom

For a car named Cube there sure are a lot of round angles - such as they rippling headliner, rounded edges on the head and fog lamps - even the fenders are round. But the Nissan Cube Krom edition is an experience on the road, no matter what the shape.

The Nissan Cube is neither a hybrid or alt-fuel vehicle, but it sure saves on fuel economy - with EPA fuel-mileage estimates of 27 mpg city and 31…

Watch yourselves environmentalists, Nissan has developed a car you're bound to fall head over heels for; and it will be available starting summer 2011. It's called the Micra DIG S - a name that fits its micro size and ultra-low emissions perfectly.

Via Nissan's cutting-edge innovation, the Micra DIG S proves that a car doesn't necessarily need to be a hybrid to join the auto industry's booming environmental party. Rather than fit the Micra DIG S with hybrid technology, Nissan has opted instead to fit it with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder Direct Injection Gasoline-Supercharger engine.

If…
